donated time to this most worthwhile endeavor.
The number of daily patient encounters set world
record numbers for number of patients seen at such
an event. Plans are in the works for an
eleventh Remote
Area Medical Health Expedition in July of this
upcoming year. Again, this event in the past has
received extensive local, state and national
attention. The 2009 year event prompted a
visit from Governor Tim Kaine.
National media attention was provided by Wall Street
Journal, New York Times, PBS, CNN, CNBC, FoxNews, AP
Newswire, Time Magazine, ABC, NBC, CBS, Boston Globe
and Washington Post. Subsequent outreaches have
been performed across the state.
